1950s Clare Potter Cashmere Cardigan

Gorgeous cashmere cardigan by renowned American designer Clare Potter. This exceptionaly rare sweater is a lovely robins egg blue with silk ribbon trim and a single covered button collar. Raglan shoulders.  Clare Potter is credited with being one of the creators of American sportswear and the first to present embellished cashmere sweaters as part of her collection. Beaded and embroidered cardigans were soon released by Mainbocher and then just about everyone else. They soon became a fashion staple in the following decades.
