1930s Beaded Rayon Crepe Jacket

Gloriously embroidered cape jacket in ivory rayon crepe. First, this jacket is badly age spotted. However the fabric is solid and without other problems. Hours of hand beading cover the attached cape and shoulders with a lovely floral design. Sequins, rhinestones and gold metalic beads have been carefully applied. This is a European couture piece by an unknown designer. An example- looking at the jacket backlit from the inside one can see the side seams have a beautiful curved taper, the edges of which have been narrowly turned over and the most minute hand stitches secures this. Most modern clothing this edge would have been run through an overlock machine. Its such a special piece we hope it can be repurposed by a creative soul. Bust 34-36" Waist 28" Length 25"
